ECPD INTERNATIONAL MASTER STUDIES ON

INTEGRATIVE - HOLISTIC APPROACH to HEALTH

Since its very beginnings, medicine has dealt with comprehensive observation of people, recognising diseases as a disbalance in harmony (homeostatis) between the body, mind and spirit. Since the time of Hippocratus, medicine has sought causes of health problems in man’s thoughts and feelings, attitudes and beliefs, state of one’s spirit ansd soul. It has also always advocated natural forms of treatment, where the physician was just an intermediary between nature and man.

Medicine today, after a long period of materialistic reductionism, recognizes the need to return to its original role in providing the unity between material, energy and spiritual aspects of the human being, which are very significant for the improvement in its health and quality of life.

Contemporary science, with new knowledges deriving from quantum physics, bio-information technologies and the nature of psychosomatic disbalances, aspires to integrate knowledge of these fields. The holistic approach to health as a philosophy, science and art of curing - healing, but also as a lifestyle, has become topical in the last decades. All forms of traditional – complementary medicine (Chinese medicine with acupuncture, homeopathy, chiropractics, quantum medicine and others) depend on the holistic approach to health, and may not be successfully applied without understanding of the holistic concept.

The European Center for Peace and Deveopment of the UN mandated University for Peace (ECPD) in cooperation with Life University (Atlanta, USA), Long Island University (Brooklyn, USA) and VAMK University (Finland), is organizing the International Master Program on Integrative– Holistic approach to health.

The AIM of the program is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge for better understanding of the Integrative – Holistic approach to health. The Programme is intended for medical doctors and health professionals with university degrees.
