XXVIII ECPD INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL

MANAGEMENT OF HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS

with the main topic

Professional Management – the Key to Sustainability of Healthcare

(Hotel “Splendid“ − Budva, 19 – 23 June 2023)

We have the pleasure to invite you to take part in the work of the 28th ECPD International Summer School of Management of Health Care Institutions (hereinafter: School), devoted to a highly topical issue: Professional Management – the Key to Sustainability of Healthcare. This year’s ECPD International Summer School continues with current topics in the field of health management and extends the tradition of gathering health managers and other decision makers in health care systems from the region of South-East and Central Europe.

The School is internationally and nationally accredited. By the Health Council of Serbia, the School is accredited as an International seminar of the 1st category with 14 points for lecturers and 7 points for participants. Accreditation number of the School is А-1-306/23.

Significant changes in the field of medical science and technology in general, as well as the new models of management of that knowledge and systems, require shifts in healthcare practice from the previous inert models to dynamic, applicable models of practical health preservation, better treatment outcomes, and the greater satisfaction of patients.

One of the goals of this year's School is to analyze the inertness of the current management models of both preclinical and clinical practice, from the aspect of system solutions, and to look at the opportunities provided by the development and implementation of digital technology in healthcare, artificial intelligence, genetic engineering and molecular biology, as well as personalized pharmacology, and to see through their own innovative and creative models the possibilities of implementing changes at the level of micro and macro systems.

Changed or newly created standards remain as a necessary helper along the way, which, when accepted and implemented, facilitate the management of units and systems, and give the desired result. Accordingly, one of the leading topics of the Program will be the topic of health standards and accreditation, as well as their indirect impact on health insurance and the cost of health care.

Co-Directors of this year’s Summer School are Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dirk Henke, Department of Health Economics and Health Management, University of Berlin, Prof. Dr. Miodrag Todorović, long-standing Director of the Seychelles Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Luca Rosi, Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Italy, and Prof. Dr. Miodrag Ivanović, long-standing Professor at several Universities in Great Britain and Professor of the ECPD UN University for Peace.
