The European Centre for Peace and Development (ECPD) of the Universtiy for Peace established by the United Nations, an international educational and research organisation, organize International expert Round Table titled “The Roma People or What It Means to be European” Media Centre, Terazije 3/II, on 28 May 2016, with participation of the leading internatioanl academic experts from different countries and international and regional institutions, including representatives of numerous Roma organisations.
Keynote speakers are:
Prof. Dr. Federico Mayor, former Director-General of UNESCO,
Prof. Dr. Christopher Coker, Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science,
Sir James Mancham, Founding President of the Republic of Seychelles, and
Dr. Clesse, Director of the LIEIS.
This meeting is is organised by the ECPD within its international programme “Roads toward Peace and Stability in the Balkans“, in cooperation with the Luxembourg Institute for European and International Studies (LIEIS). The primary aim of the Round Table is to establish permanent dialogue among all stakeholders in the area of Roma cultural heritage preservation.
