Scientific Meetings

In accordance with the ECPD founding documents, organizing and holding international scientific, consultative and other meetings is one of its major tasks, which was successfully fulfilled. During its long-term operation, the European Center for Peace and Development (ECPD) organized and held numerous of such events (congresses, conferences, symposium, round tables, workshops).

Most of the ECPD International scientific meetings attended by several hundred (300, 400, 500, 600 or 700) of participants, including former, actual or future heads of states, Nobel prize winners, academicians, theorists of world repute in specific fields of science, directors and high officials of international and regional organizations, professors at renowned universities and faculties, directors and associates of research institutions and the like. Some of these activities were attended by scientists and public figures from almost all parts of the world. They were places and at the same time occasions at which intellectuals and experts of the East and the West, the North and the South could meet, express their views and exchange experience in their professional occupations.

Modern education for the improvement of knowledge:

·         Enables the acquisition of necessary knowledge in the area;

·         Ensures the skill of learning in time under given conditions;

·         Trains students for the transfer of knowledge to actual work progress.

Due to unfavourable occurrences in Yugoslavia, the ECPD host-country, during 1990s, the ECPD operating conditions in these fields were seriously hampered. However, thanks to its non-political orientation, independent and autonomous status, the ECPD succeeded to rally the intellectuals and reputed experts at its events in various European centers including Athens, Greece, Varna, Bulgaria, Vienna, Austria, Bremen,Germany, Moscow, Russian Federation, Saint Endred, France and the like.

The following SURVEY of the ECPD carried out international meetings is the best reference of the ECPD experiences and capabilities in this field of its activities.
