XXII ECPD INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL
MANAGEMENT OF HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS
with the main topic
PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT – THE KEY TO SUSTAINABILITY OF EUROPEAN HEALTHCARE
(Hotel „Splendid“ − Bečići, 26 – 30 June 2017)

We have the pleasure to invite you to take part in the work of Twenty second ECPD International Summer School of Management of Health Care Institutions (hereinafter: School), devoted to a highly topical issue: Professional Management – the Key to Sustainability of European Healthcare. This year’s ECPD International Summer School continues with current topics in the field of health management and extends the tradition of gathering health managers and other decision makers in health care systems from the region of South-east and Central Europe.

Taking into account that the economic crisis in Europe has not yet been overcome and could be followed by another wave as well as that health systems in most countries are undergoing cuts in health budgets, while at the same time they are facing a huge inflow of economic immigrants and refugees, there is an even higher need for short- and medium term health reforms, in order to respond to the existing and new challenges to health care. We believe that the program of this year’s Summer School that will cover a wide range of topics is rightfully dedicated to these challenges.

The President of the School Council is Prof. Dr. Đorđe Jakovljević, Founder and long-standing Director of this ECPD International Summer School. Directors of this year’s School is Prof. Dr. Arne Björnberg, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Health Consumer Powerhouse, Sweden, while the Co-Directors are Prof. Dr. Dušan Keber, President of the Red Cross of Slovenia and prominent international expert with extensive experience in this field across the region of Southeast Europe, Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dirk Henke, Chair of Health Economics and Health Management, Technical University, Berlin, Prof. Dr. Ana Stavljenić Rukavina, Libertas International University, Zagreb, and Ass. Prof. Dr. Nebojša Kavarić, ECPD Regional Coordinator for the Health and Environmental Programs.
