Prof. Dr Negoslav Ostojic
In accordance with the basic ECPD founding and statutory documents, the ECPD Executive Director has, inter alia, the following functions: to represent the Center as a legal person and to administer and coordinate the activities of the Center; to manage the Secretariat of the Center; to establish consultative bodies which are necessary for the fulfillment of the work program of the Centre; to direct the implementation of the work program and approve the expenses provided for in the budget for this purpose; to negotiate and conclude agreements with the relevant national, regional and international institutions and organizations relating to the activities of the Center. The first ECPD Executive Director was Dr. Zvonimir Knežević, former Minister of Education in the Government of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the first session of the ECPD Council, on the occasion of the meeting of the University for Peace, held in Brasilia (Brasil), in February 1989, Dr Negoslav P. Ostojić, an expert in international economic relations and development, was appointed the ECPD Executive Director. By the decision of the ECPD Council at its meetings held in Paris on November 2, 1995, and in Dubrovnik, in 2001, Dr Ostojić was reappointed the ECPD Executive Director with the next term of six years. On October 28, 2007, pursuant to Decision, brought by the ECPD Council, Dr Ostojić was reappointed ECPD Executive Director for the period of the six years.
